Soap bubbles cards are a bubbly way to say you care! Use bubbles to paint!
Use soap bubbles to help you paint a Valentine or a Mothers Day card! Here's what the kids used to make lots of different cards for mom, dad, gramps, grandma, their teachers, and their friends. This is what you need Pie plate Liquid tempera paint in several colors Liquid dishwashing soap Water Felt tipped markers Light colored construction paper Drinking straws Newspaper Instructions
Cover the work area with newspapers. Stir together 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of paint, and 1 tablespoon of dishwashing soap in the pie plate. Put one end of a drinking straw in the mixture. Be careful, DO NOT SUCK on the straw! Blow into the straw until the bubbles are almost flowing over the edge of the pie plate. Remove the straw and place it on the newspaper. Fold a piece of construction paper in half like a card. Gently place the front of the card on top of the bubbles and hold it in place. Wait until several bubbles have popped and left their shape on the paper. Continue with the process using different colors of paint in the mixture until you have what you want. Blow more bubbles if needed. Add more paint if you want darker colors. When you are satisfied with the design, set the card aside to dry. After it's dry, use your magic markers to draw a heart on the outside of the card and to write a special message to a special person on the inside of the card! Note Blue paint in the bubbles makes a good sky or water background for your card. Try making all different kinds of cards with different color combinations and see what you like best!
