Chicago style hotdogs are sometimes called redhots. Dragged through the garden means loaded with vegetables. That is how McAveler likes them!

Hi, Chico Chihuahua here. I am somewhat of an expert when it comes to Chicago style hotdogs, being sort of a hot dog myself. So McAveler asked me to talk with you about them.

Chicago style hotdogs DachshundBut first, let me clear up a common myth. .

Dachshunds are friendly little dogs with short legs and long bodies. That's why they are called wiener dogs instead of hotdogs.

But you can't eat a wiener dog. You can, however, eat a hot dog and I do whenever my family accidentally drops one on the ground at a picnic.

Did you know that in the greater Chicago area, there are more hot dog restaurants (like Fluky's) than McDonalds, Wendy's and Burger King restaurants combined? Well, now you know!

Because , I know these things. Sometimes I am also a doctor.

I also know I'm not supposed to eat human food but sometimes I think Mimi drops her delicious hot dog on the ground accidentally on purpose just so I can have a taste. I love Mimi so much!

She is soooooo cute!

But I have to eat it quickly before McAveler sees me and has a fit.

Chicago style hotdogs Schnauzer10. And no sauerkraut for me, thanks. I am a proud Chihuahua and sauerkraut does not agree with me. But my friend Siegfried Schnauzer on his.

11. If you want your dog with everything on it, just tell the chef to "Drag it through the garden!"
