McAveler learns about American Girl dolls and Mimi learns about the Pro Football Hall of Fame! They both learn about chi Town and Chicago style hotdogs.
American Girl Dolls were first created in Chicago by a wonderful lady by the name of Pleasant Rowland
Mimi, it's a nice, warm spring day and all of our chores are done. Want to jump back in time to visit someplace interesting?
Of course, said Mimi, with a happy idea glowing in her eyes. Let's jump to Chicago in real time!
Chicago? In real time, asked McAveler, incredulously? Chicago isn't so far away and it isn't all that old and besides,
All true, replies Mimi, resolutely. And it's also near where Pleasant Rowland was born in 1941.
Who is she, asks McAveler?
She is famous for creating the American Girl brand. You know--dolls based on girl characters.
And you and mom just happen to , don't you?
McAveler already sensed that he was not going to win this contest of wills with his clever little sister, Mimi.
OK then, Chicago it is, McAveler says, as cheerfully as he can.
But next trip, we're going to Canton, Ohio, says McAveler.
Canton, Ohio? Whatever for, asked Mimi?
For the Pro Football Hall of Fame, answered McAveler, almost reverently. Did You know that the Chicago Bears football team has had more than any other team?
I'm not real sure how I would have known that, McAveler. But I guess turnabout is fair play, admitted Mimi.
But secretly Mimi just couldn't understand why anyone would want to waste a perfectly good jump just to go see a round building with a huge white football sticking out of the roof, even if it was full of famous Chicago football players.
And McAveler really wasn't all that interested in American Girl dolls but he knew it meant a lot to his often adorable little sister so he was willing to play along.
Mimi, ready to jump to Chicago? Take my hand, here we gooooooooo!!
An assignment from Doctor Chico Chihuahua
Kids, do you see how Mimi and McAveler decide what to do without fighting?
They both do something that the other person wants to do. That way, both of them
We Chihuahuas have been doing it that way for a long time and it is always better than fighting and growling at your friends and family! Or even at that cat, Snowball, that lives next door.
Here's what I want you to do. Ask your friend or a family member if they want to do something fun.
Then ask them to choose what to do first.
Then you choose something different to do later.
Now report back to your parent or teacher about if your experiment made everyone happy or sad.
